It was (is?) the quickest "production" car to date. Quickest meaning acceleration. Fastest means highest top speed. That was the McLaren F1 for a long time and now it's that Konigsegg thing.

The Z-Tune also technically isn't a production car. The R34 was already out of production when the Z-Tune work started. Nissan bought up 20 low-mileage used R34s, stripped em down and built em back up as Z-Tunes.
