In the military, the .50 Machine gun is employed as an anti-vehicular and anti-equipment weapon only. The Geneva Conventions deem it inhumane to shoot personnel because of the weapons massive power. If a .50 round comes with 18 inches of the body it will slice open the skin from the surrounding shockwave. If it comes within 6 inches, it can easily take off an extremity. If it makes direct contact... pink mist :chuckles:
Note: Notice that it is partially an anti-equipment weapon. Nothing says you can't fire at the canteens that a person is wearing
