Tranny/CV joint Failure
Well wondering if anyone else has ran into this problem I run a B series motor/tranny combo in my EF hatch and run 235/45/13 V700's. I recently had a squealing noise we at first thought was a wheel bearing so I started taking things apart and it wasn't that, then I needed to replace the outboard CV joint boot so I attempted to take out the axle the inboard wouldn't come out no matter what I tried, big pry bars, you name it. So since I had another tranny and I really needed to find a good way to take out the axle I took the tranny out. I ended up having to split the case that the pin out the of diff and pound out the axle to find the axle has all kinds of welded up material on it and the diff part is all scuffed as well, the bearing on that side that holds the diff in place feel bad as well. Just wondering what other think.
I am leaning toward the bearing going out causing some side loading on the axle and therefore the wear. Looking for any other ideas before I put the other tranny in and wreck something else. Plenty of fluids in it from what I could tell when I drained it, maybe should of kept a better track of just how much was in it. for what it's worth the other side slipped out beautifully and had a nice film of oil on it.
Thanks for any idea's comments, info, etc.
