91 Si 2.05. 2056cc
:nervous: About to rebuild the engine in my 91 prelude. It has 220,000 on it. I've owned the care for about 5 years. The car itself is still super clean. It is a 5 spd. Does anyone here have any experiece with these engines? Or rebuilding Honda engines in general? I am a mechanic by trade but the only engines I've rebuilt were American made 6 and 8 cylinders. I just want to make sure there is nothing out of the ordinary when building these engines. The first thing I noticed that is unusual to me is that there are multiple sizes of bearings and piston sizes possible to find in the engine from the factory. Is this going to be an issue? I plan on finding that I will need to have the crank ground and cylinders bored. I'm hoping all I have to do is have everything machined .010" over and just get all bearings, and pistons as a standard set .010" oversize. Does this sound reasonable? Any technical tricks or special things to take into consideration when rebuilding Honda engines would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Randy :nervous:
