Alright, I just traded my 91 auto hatch dx for a 90 manual crx Si. I went to have the emissions done and it didn’t pass. I pulled off my full exhaust from the header back and found a hole along with noticing my exhaust looked like it got caught on a curb and pulled back. Lastly, my catalytic converter was hollowed out. I need to replace the cat to pass emissions and I really want and need to replace the exhaust system while it’s already off. I’m gonna go ahead and apologize for the long post but I care very much about my car because it’s a big project and I want to do it right from the start.

1st Question: What type of catalytic converter should I get?

2nd Question: I really don’t want to use an EBAY one, but has anyone had good experiences with them? (I would only buy this to save money if it worked)

3rd Question: Out of the following list of exhaust systems what does everyone know to be very good and has anyone had bad experiences with them and did you get it cheaper (all prices include shipping but list what you paid and where if it’s cheaper)?

4th Question: The exhausts I listed are from the following vendors. Has anyone had good or bad experiences with any of these?

5th Question: Not only do I have to buy a catback system but also a cat which is a minimum 80 bucks for a carsound and then get it welded which I could get for like 20 bucks. So the minimum I will be spending is $525 and the max is $610. Now for about 195 bucks I could get all the piping for the catback in 2.25 or 2.5 inches then the cat for $80 and a good muffler and resonator for about $100 more bringing that to a total of about 425 bucks with welding. If I went this route, my exhaust would be mild steel instead of stainless like some of the above systems. Should I go this route to save a minimum of 100 bucks and know my exhaust system will fit and look exactly the way I want it?
