O2 Software Issues w/Integra 2000?
I have had lovely my Integra 2K GS into the shop for 4 visits, each prompted by the Check Engine light. First, I was told my gas cap was loose, next it was compression related (two visits and some costly replacements) and finally I was told that the 2K has software issues (this model year only) and the computer was removed for 10-15 minutes to "soft-reset" the software so that the two Check Engine codes would no longer occur.
My mechanic seems reliable for the most part and was frustrated, as well. He seemed more upset than I was and could offer no more than an apology for not knowing about the reported software issue on the prior visits and attempted repairs.
Can anyone confirm a software problem and the need to "soft-reset" the computer? If so, should I persue an effort for obtaining re-imbursement from Acura for this issue, or would it be fruitless? I need solid expert advise.
