That should work out just fine because OBDI doesn't have a secondary sensor. As for the cat I would suggest that you leave it on. Running a straight pipe instead of a high flow cat yields a very minor gain. It would give a small power gain but who knows what it does to your torque numbers. It's not worth polluting the enviroment over over such a tiny gain.

What's the better buy here though, an ECU plus a conversion harness or a new secondary O2 sensor?

Has anyone had problems passing emissions on a OBDII vehicle equipped with a OBDI ECU?
