Time spent searching for a solution 1hr. Money saved $150

Or just stick a cheap & cheerful PCI card in there. Using a PCI-Express card won't make ripping DVD's any faster..

Also, what about the warranty, if there is one?

Had better experience with their servers than desktops; client had problems with Dell system running a Celeron/256MB/40GB. Piece of absolute shit hardware, slow as sludge but service from Dell was very good.
