If they're continuously spending $50-$70 on a pair of bulbs that blow every few months or years versus HID which lasts for around 10 years, it's far more cost efficient to buy HID. Plus HID isn't just going for a pretty color, HID is brighter, a color spectrum that excites signs and road paint, in the end not only is it pretty, you can see further and better.

I'm so addicted to HID I spent $3k more on a one year later benz even though the older one had 15k less miles, the 97 had HID.(97 S600, although I am regretting buying it, what a freaking money pit)
