thanks for the response guys. I replaced the starter yesterday. It was pretty straightforward. I was prepared to do a write up but it was ridiculously easy.

The only tip I'd offer as was mentioned before, remove the bolts holding down the airbox and swing it out of the way. It'll give you more room to work.
