If it states either on the dashboard or the owners manual to use premium fuel only, do so. It will keep the engine running at its peak potential if you use the recommended octane fuel.
The timing belt is a good idea to do right away. A broken timing belt is bad news for the valves and pistons on close interference engines like Honda engines.
It may be a good idea to do a full tuneup with new distributor cap/rotor, spark plugs, spark plug wires, fuel filter, etc if you don't know when they were done last. It will give you better gas mileage and prolong the life of the car.
