This guy wants to make $$$ not get reimbursed for expenses. We all know that racing is a hole into which you WILL pour $$$ with little prospect of recouping it.
The only good car is one you can drive at its limits and win with. Try a few and find one you like for off-street activities such as autocross (no $$$ directly), SCCA/NASA track (no $$$ directly), NHRA/IHRA (no $$$ directly). This assumes you are not a prefoessional driver doing a professional event such as NASCAR.
