When I first picked up my '99 EX V-6, the salesman told me that the car should run "fine" on regular unleaded, but IF I were to put in Premium, the horsepower would "jump to" 205 or so from the stock 200.....first of all, is this just bullshit, and SHOULD Premium fuel be used in the sixth generation V-6 Accords, or should I continue using regular, which I have been pretty much doing? IS there an increase in performance by going with premium fuel, or should premium NOT be used in these cars?

What scares me is a story I remember from an old friend of mine who told me that when he used to continuously put premium fuel in his Saturn, eventually black smoke began bellowing out of his tailpipe, and the dealer told him he burned out his fuel injectors because the gas was too rich for the car.....
