pager alarms (LCD remotes) might sound like the solution to break ins, but..
1. who knows if your car will be gone by the time u show up. thieves can get past almost any alarm, i know how to and im not even a thief.
2. will u really run out to your car every time it goes off? in the middle of a business meeting or class, or what if a car with a loud exhaust cruises by?
3. i have a compustar alarm and ive noticed that when im in my school, i dont get reception from my car. just like my cell phone. so u wont even know that ur alarm is going off since ur remote cannot receive signals from the activated alarm.

i think its best just to park in safe places and to not try to show off too much, like blasting the subwoofers. my friend got his car stolen 3 days after i sold and installed my subs/amp into his car.
