Kinda does sound like an accessory belt, definately coming from the tranny. i had a very experienced mechanic drive my car today and he said it is a bearing on the input shaft... I'll post a thread when i drop the tranny and have a look, hopefully i have time damnit.

I was also thinking of the throwout bearing though, to me it seems that it would be a bearing that has to do with the clutch, not the tranny... bah i dunno i'll post when i dO! :irock:
