First off, I've been reading a lot of this forum and of ClubRSX.com. My mother is looking at purchasing my used 98 Accord Coupe from me for $1,000 less than KBB value and I've got about $1,500 saved up and I was planning on taking out a loan for about $10,000.

Long story short, I'll have about $17,000-$18,000 to work with.

The ONLY two cars I'm looking at are used RSX Type-S and used Accord V6 6MT Coupes. I've found the following facts:

- Used RSX Type-S with under 50,000 miles (i.e. still under warranty, even for a little bit) can be found in my price range, if not $1,000-$2,000 cheaper.
- Used AV6 with all the options I want are hard to find used in my area, and are about $2,000-$5,000 out of my price range.

It looks like the Type-S is the car for me. I've ALWAYS loved it, and I prefer the 02-04 style over the 05+.

What should I look for in a used RSX Type-S? Did all the 02-04 cars need the 2nd gear replaced? What should be some warning signs?
