buffalobill: THe width of the tire shouldn't have an effect on the severity of wear. Both a wide and skinny tire would have the same angle against the road surface. I can't verify it, but i think lowering air pressure, or at least not having it rock solid, would prolong the life of the tire since more of the tire would touch the ground. This is just my thinking though.
flyromeo: i got over 20k out of some yokohama avs/es100 but that is with very agressive driving. I also asked my allignment guy to set the toe to zero in the rear.
