Could be a bad throwout bearing. If your tach is not reading properly-that is a sign that simething is going in the distributor. The dizzy is not hard to replace, btw. You will need a timing light for that. Before, spending money on a new one-check for ECU codes just to be sure. You can also take the cap off and see if there is a brownish film on the inside of it and on the internal parts-the bearing does this and it is asure sign of impending failure.
