He tried to escape.

Add it up. This guy is over-qualified for a Darwin Award. In the annals of stupidity, nothing else even comes close.

All he had to do when the cops caught up with him was to offer just the slightest bit of resistance, and...well, you can figure out the rest. He's lucky he only had to wear a spit shield instead of a full-body cast, or worse.

The official report says that he resisted arrest. Whether or not it's true, he got what he deserved.

I loved the picture from inside the courtroom as he was being arraigned. All those cops...staring at him. If RI had the death penalty, the only remaining question would be "when do we drop the pellets into the acid? tomorrow OK for you?"
