flash has some good features that help out in vector art. especially combined with a tablet, it can be great for digital drawing. at the same time it lacks some things that a really robust vector graphics application typically has (like illustrator). the UI is also a piece of shit, and the vector editing is unintuitive and painful. but strictly for vector drawing, like the two sites you guys mentioned, i can see how it would be very useful.

i've never used fireworks, but i've used corel draw and have been using illustrator for years. people can do some crazy stuff with any of these programs, but illustrator's UI is the best by far. i really hope that adobe can fix flash's UI, because it has caused me so much pain and suffering almost every part of it seems weak, unintuitive and poorly thought-out

I'd have to agree. I've never seen Flash used as a drawing tool. And if those two sites mentioned used flash to do such drawings... that's a great job. However, I think the industry is still using Illustrator and Corel draw for such drawings. Flash is still the tool to use for internet ready animation and interface.
