Default Heart Transplant Visit Over :)

So today was my heart transplant visit today. I was there from 11am till like 4:30 pm. It started with about an hour and a half of talkin to the social worker. She told me sorta the process and the time it would take to get a new heart if i were to be put on the list, and its between a few weeks to about 4 months, becasue lately they have been good about getting hearts. Also said it would take about 1-3 months for all the evaluations to happen and today was just the 1st visit.

IF i were to get on the list, i would be getting the surgery done at Stanford Medical Center, stay there for 2 weeks, and then i would have to move to San Jose where Kaiser would take over and live in SJ for 1 month because i'd be going to the doctor daily. Hotel is suggested or family member would be better but i dont know anyone in San Jose so Hotel it is IF i have to.

Also i need a psych evaluation and make sure i can cope with the process casue its really hard and tehy wanna know i have the support to overcome this. Talked about a few more stuff i cant remember.

Then i went to get an EKG and tried to get a chest xray but the stupid lady at the xray said they were only doign stat patients during lunch and to come back later or go down the street, so i decided to wait till after the cardiologist exam.

Went in to see the cardiologist, she was a chick, and she had already gone throw my whole medical history very thoroughly. I was shocked, but i guess they have to check every lil thing i have and all this other stuff. SO i basically told her how i was feeling and that i have not gotton any sleep for the past 2 nights due to severe coughing. ALso told her the hot flashes i get from moving sometimes with very little exersion. She said flat out i was retaining water! And i'm like, "like a woman?!!" haha and she started laughing and said yea sorta. The bad heart isnt pumpin right so it makes it so my body retains water. She gave me some Lasic which makes me piss and that should help everything and get ride of the cough which i took today and been pissin like crazy. SHe also upped one of my other meds, and gave me a 3rd medication to stop a hormone in the heart that makes me retain more water.

Overall it went great. She said i'm a good candidate for the surgery, but it would be as a last resort. She has to gather more information, especially about the MD and how it would affect my lung muscles because if they do continue with the transplant and the lung muscles are part of the problem it will be a waste. So she's gonna contact my Neurologist and talk to them. She also suggested excercise 3 times a week for 30 mins because they would be puttin me on a bike and i would have to do good.

All and all it was good times, hopefully i can get ride of this cough and finally get some sleep after 2 days of nothing. SO yea just wanted to share the good news to everyone.
