2001 EX-V6

I did a complete brake bleed. Changed the transaxle fluid, and changed the coolant. All went pretty smooth, except I broke my darn mason jar I was bleeding to (insert mess here).

Here’s a few tips.

Coolant;
Do not listen to the Haynes manual. It says to open the drain cock, and remove the lower radiator hose. You can’t get to the lower radiator hose. The Factory manual shows a bleeder on the backside of the crankcase. It’s like a larger version of the brake bleeder. Put a hose on it, crack it open, and the rest of the coolant will drain.

Brakes;

Remove the bleeders, and put Teflon tape on them and put back in. They leak like the Titanic around the threads. This will make it much easer to get a good bleed.

Transaxle (Automatic);
There is a bolt on top to fill through. You will need a very long extension. I used an 8” and 6” together to reach it and get good leverage.

130k, and she’s all ready for the summer.
