my block says D16Z6, and my head says SOHC V-TEC (Honda Motor Co.). It has 16 valves, 4 in each cylinder. It's the engine that was in the car when the car was originally purchased/made.

Yeah, I've got a CRX with a D16Z6 with the 1.6 litre v-tec in it. It's a SOHC.
If you have a Crx that is NOT the engine that came with it stock.The d16z6 came in the 92-95 civic Si/Ex.
Stock 88-91 Crx's came with SOHC NON vtec 1.6's,the d16a6.
