If you must remove the A/C just take it to a shop and have them recover the gas first, if all they're doing is recovering it will only take them 30mins @ the most. R134a and R12 (old gas discontinued) refrigerants ARE CFC's. If you must destroy the ozone layer do it with a straight pipe on the track.
