That part is tricky. It would probably depend on what your policy says. The insurance company might get pissed off that they didn't know about the accident that you were sued over. It might be worth a phone call to an agent to ask them what to do. I'd try to fix it for under $750 but still notify them of the accident so they won't be so surprised if you get sued.
