The volume goes up when you speed up and gets lower as you slow down? There is a thing on newer Pioneer decks that automatically adjusts the volume based on road noise, its called ASL. Not sure how to turn it off on your deck though.

Mind you, I could be totally wrong about what I think the problem is.
