I got a 94 accord ex 4dr with auto, 163k on it tranny and motor are original. The previous owner took really good care of the car and got all scheduled maint done at the dealer, and ive owned it since 128k and done the best i can. At 150k i changed the tranny fluid and all is good.

Recently, the car has began to rev freely when shifting from third to fourth, but this only happens when the engine is cold. For a while i thought it was my short ram intake, but i put the stock airbox back on and it still does this.

Is this maybe something like a sensor? That is the only thing i can think of and hope for.

If the tranny goes i wouldnt mind doing a auto to manual and swapping an f22b dohc but if it indeed is going i need to at least keep it running till october when i have to smog so i dont gotta pay someone (**** ca)

in 06 im moving to eureka, ca where they dont have smog, only if you sell the car so since eurekas kinda close to oregon id probably try to find a buyer from up there to get around that.
