if you have a prelude sh you may want to consider selling it and getting something that actually turns...
hahaa....j/k man. (i own a 2000 & co-drive a '92 4ws si). I don't know why you'd have to move to STX...in the 2005 rulebook both base and SH models were moved to D-stock--there is no longer any differentiation between the 2. But if you've got more than basic bolt-on's, welcome to STX.
back to tires- the old azeni's are going fast and their replacement is a little pricier. if you're auto-x'ing and want to go with falkens...azenis are where it's at. however, given the current cost situation, and if you're using the car as a daily driver and are gonna run through the rubber faster...you might want a more cost-effective option. the 615's aren't the cheap wonder that the 215's once were. the new hankooks look like a good bet, priced similar to the old azeni's (and they're giving contingency $! WOOT!). and on top of that, the hankooks don't get greasy in the heat like the old azeni's do. (I'm talkin Texas heat...they might be fine for you northerners...)
ultimately it's up to you. it's only tires, they only last so long and eventually you're gonna hafta replace them anyway. you might just want to stick with your stock wheels for now and experiment w/rubber. if you change rim size now when you're new to the whole auto-x thing, you might wish you'd made a different decision on down the road.
