how's the electrical stuff in your car? are there any odd warning lights on the dash?

does the engine die at a certain RPM? in a certain gear?

could be a couple of things from a bad ecu, to a failing alternator, to a broken part in the throttle body (jammed egr valve, failing sensor, etc)
