Runs fine for 20 seconds then bad... I can't think of anything obvious. I'd probably go around & verify all the basic stuff. You want to rule out as much stuff as you can. Plugs condition & gap, spark timing, plug wires arcing, vacuum leaks around the FITV & TB...
Maybe put a timing light on it, watch to see whether the spark timing does anything strange at that 20-second point?
thanks for all your guys help, it was the distributor, car starts and runs 100 percent! the CODE 4 and 9 were on for TDC No 1 cyl top dead center sensor and CPS, these both are built into the distributor, what the heck is the sensor on the exhaust cam on the dual cam motors?, i got this sensor from the junk yard and i didnt even put it on, and my old one works fine? do the DOHC motors have 2 TDC sensors? But the distributor has them built into them just like the single cam hondas? the fan relay under the dash for the it was for a heater fan , or radiator fan, i pulled the relay out and code 20 went away, i could see the wiring to the relay was melted, and was burnt.
