Doesn't sound normal to me. Rings should seal within 5 minutes of the initial startup. I just rerung my engine and haven't had any smoke what so ever. I don't know how much thicker/stronger those rings are from stock but they make take longer or may not even seal up completely. Give it a few hundred more miles and if they haven't sealed, I would replace them with OEM rings.
