Honda guy: Thought you would like to see why I was taking my stereo out. I installed a sirius satellite radio.

I wanted it to appear "stock". I didn't want any wires hanging out all over. So, I found a receiver that fit in the "cargo box" under the stereo. I removed the box per you instructions. Drilled a 7/16" hole in the upper right hand corner of the box. This hole would allow all of the wires to pass through and be hidden. Also, the hole is small enough that if I ever sell the car, I could easily plug it with a plastic plug.

I hard wired a FM transmitter into my stereo. I spliced into the power outlet (near the coin holder) for power. Finally, I ran the antenna out through the door wire harness assembly.

I didn't want to drill into the cargo box to mount the receiver cradle (extra 4 holes), so I made a block to mount the receiver onto. It's just a 2/4" piece of oak spray painted jet black ( to match my interior ). I tapered it so it just a interference type fit. I know it sounds a little redneck like, but trust me you can't see the wood block from anywhere in the car.

It's solid as a rock, and I think it looks great!

I am an aircraft avionics technician (wire chaser) and mechanic by trade. So, this was fairly simple job. However, I needed you help to gain access to the back of the stereo. Man, Hondas are made with tight interiors!
