Just about all Acura engines are interference (along with Honda). Notable exceptions are the NSX and SLX models.

Also, the older trannys did not have the same incidence rate of tranny problems (the 4-speed auto) as does the current 5-speed type; but I would stongly recommend that the fluid be changed at regular intervals to insure trouble free performance. Honda trannys are not know to be bulletproof and they are on the pricey side to replace/rebuild.
