Default Alternator replacement

I have a '94 Accord EX and checked the brushes in the alternator late last year.
The still were fine with plenty of material left. From what I saw they should last
till 200K miles.

My wifes '93 Civic died on the road last week. We had it towed to a dealer and got hosed for a new Ignition module (ignitor) and coil. I figure it took the mechanic about 30 minutes to replace those parts and was charged $430.00!
What a ripoff! To make matters worse I asked to get the parts back and didn't.
Also the mechanic left a black plastic cover out the the distributor and inside the engine compartment over the wheel well. I replaced it myself and saw the parts they changed. I could have done it myself for about $125 total.

Oh well they got me this time.

The above pic was taken before I replaced the cover which the mechanic failed to put back on. I guess a labor charge of close to $200 wasn't enough to get the job done right?
