technics and roland are typically the best and most expensive. yamahas are way overpriced and are pretty much not worth it. if you're not looking to pay for a technics or a roland, casio makes keyboards that are a lot nicer than yahama, much less expensive, and feel a lot better. the keys feel great (MUCH better than yamaha), and the right models will have keys that are weighted/damped differently as you move up the keyboard (forgot what this feature is called). on a normal piano, the higher keys are supposed to be much lighter, and there is supposed to be no damper on the highest keys. the lower keys are heavier. they attempt to recreate this feel in some of their digital pianos. yamaha does it too, but only with their higher end models. yamaha keyboards aren't bad, but they're too expensive. even their higher end models can't compete with the casio's, tho.
my brother was shopping for a digital piano for a couple months, so i got to try out a lot of them. he ended up buying a used roland.
how much did he get the roland for? whats he use it for?
