No, you don't... You need to stick with an ECU that can be programmed, which at this point is going to be an OBD1 ECU. If your car is OBD1, then stick with a P28 or P72 ECU. If it's OBD2, then use something like a P2P. But for love of pete, just stop insisting on using OBD2 ECU's just because the engine was in an OBD2 car, that it needs to be treated as such.
