It all depends on how much the rebuild will cost. I know the H23 has more tq, not sure of the difference of hp/tq in H22 vs H23. Also which do you like better VTEC or non VTEC. I personally would get the H22 , more fun w/ VTEC. Also, one other thing I believe you can consider is do your H23 rebuild w/ all the parts your buddy said & throw a H22 head on. I'm sure you can do the same like the B series motors. Good luck
