I have kenwoods with tabs that stick out like that. However, on the kenwoods, the tabs were indented so I could just bend the off.

For your case, get some big wire cutters or tin snips or file to cut/file those tabs down within the size the outer circumference of the speaker to make it fit. You won't harm anything.
