If you have a digital volt meter you can check the pins of the dlc connector for power and ground. Probably the easier way would be to take it somewhere that offers a free scan and see if it gives info up to the scanner if you're volt meter challenged.
Now that being said...It kinda works both ways, just because it has a DLC connector doesn't mean it's a working interface. I have seen some 95's that it did work like a 96-up and some that had the plug but wasn't connected to anything...I should have mentioned this in my earlier post. Sorry.
