Thats my car. I have done a few changes to it but, it still essentialy looks the same. I think the lights on my car are too damn white that it overly takes away from the whole dark concept look from the rest of the car.
there's not that much of a dark theme. If you had dark rims and amber tails, maybe I'd see your point, but with the polished slips/red-clear tails, the clear theme ties in. Personally, I'd think that dark headlights would throw everything off. However, the 96-98 CTR headlamps (the real ones) arn't entirely dark (it depends on the angle/light). OC Civic has the CTR/red-clear look on his car, and its not too bad. I kinda thought they looked better with amber tails, tho (how I had it)

If you black out the headlights on the 96-98 then it has a ghetto look. If I had a 99-00 and blackened the lights then it would retain a classy look. The clear look for 96-98 headlights are the best look IMO with a light car like the SiR in that pic and others. I've yet to see any dark 96-98 with black housing lamps that impressed me.
you could always get the SiR lights (clear), take them appart, and paint them. Thats one thing I've always considered.

However, my problem is even worse. I want to go HID, and the h4 housing is one of the worst for glare and whatnot. JDM headlamps are already ruled out because of no main light relector, and the headlamps are angled for the opposite side of traffic. (I got flashed every so often). Like you said, any USDM 96-98 semi-stock headlamp looks like ass (mainly, the blinker area reflector). I'm tired of my DIY OEMS....

time to go projector again :rick:
