I studied intro to accounting a long time ago. I had a professor with a thick accent. To this day I beleive he said that debits add money and credits subtract money. So, if your account was credited with $100 that means you lost or spent money?? I guess if the gear ratio is 4.2 that means it is taller than a gear ratio of 4.7. And if the 4.2 is taller it doesn't spin as fast??
I think the 4.2 gear is being credited with $100. Which means 4.2 payed off a debt owed to someone. Maybe the local voodoo tech that came up with the system that indicates the shorter number (4.2) has the taller value????? HA.
