The connector clips into the sheet metal on the passenger side like Airon says. I would recommend pulling the plastic the trim from the underside of hatch to disconnect spoiler light, everything is held on by clips so a few good tugs will remove everything. Remove the plastic rails first then the main plastic.

Also there are a total of 5 screws holding on the spoiler, 4 acorn nuts (2 on each side) that you can see and one plastic clip thing (on the drivers side) that you cannot. Remove all 4 acorn nuts, then a firm tug on the drivers side of the spiler will pull that 5th screw out. I spent 15min trying to unscrew that thing.
