Tho mine is FOR SALE and I do love the SS tranny-I can only say that you must drive it with some care. Remember that it is NOT designed for neutral dumps or peeling out. In fact, the computers will limit your ability to do that. In SS mode the car is really fun to drive. It will shift very quickly. Just remember that it downshifts as you slow to a stop and will be in 1st when you leave a light.

For the naysayers who have 5 speeds-enjoy your rides. For those of us with SS trannys we too can enjoy-just in a different way.

I will advise you to have the transmission FULLY flushed at a dealer-NOW. Unless you have the complete service history for the car there is no way that you can be sure of anything about it. The SS gearbox requires one of 2 types of service. The drain and fill (3 quarts) is just that and removes little to no debris (normal contaminants). The full service reverse flushes 7 quarts and you will see and feel the difference.

Other things to take care of include a valve adjustment and coolant flush. You should also consider flushing the brake fluid (2year intervals are recommended). I have these things done because it is good maintenance practice. With a used car it is even more important to have a starting point that you can be sure of.

Good luck and enjoy the ride.
