Read the manual
Put it on M-mode, that will give you the power over the shutter speed and f-stop. And under P-mode there should be an aperature priority mode. That allows you to adjust the f-stop and it will adjust the shutter speed for you accordingly. If you want to take pics like the ones posted, you need to get into M-mode.
