so the idle problem is fixed?

the vacuum thing sounds about right. when you push on the throttle the vacuum from the intake is filled by incomming air, the RPMs climb and create a vacuum in the intake again. A never ending cycle....

I've found a little paranoia is good, keeps you second guessing and not messing anything up.
