grinding noise from where? are you still running the A/C belt?
If you're still running the belt it's highly possible that your compressor is fried and the engine is still spinning it.

I can't think of a way that spark plugs could be making a grinding noise. But to be sure what's going on, take it somewhere to have it looked at. Grinding noises are never good.
