Sorry, but 3K is overkill. Now if I was racing it, maybe. I tend to dump my motorcycle oil after each track day. Sure I only put 125 miles on it, but at speeds of 150 and bumping the redline regular, it's a safe bet it should be changed.
Again, if 3K makes you feel happy, then 3K is what you need to do. I'm QUITE happy to change it at 7500.
