The problem is with my
Automatic 1992 Civic DX Sedan.
Whenever the car has been sitting for more than a few hours and I try to drive it on D4, the transmission feels like it is "stuck" in the lowest gear. If I keep on the gas to try to go faster, the car continues to stay in the lowest gear and I get up to roughly 5-6k rpms if I want to go 25mph. I have to pull the shifter down to D2 to get it to shift into the second gear, which will give me a little more rpm's to use (3-4k rpm's at 25mph). It will take roughly 5minutes of driving until the tranny acts normal again.
Do you guys have any suggestions short of replacing the auto tranny? A autoto manual swap is out of the question because this is my beater

I need the most economical solution to this problem. Hope I explained everything correctly. Thanks!
