Too Much Glare?
This is a custom surfboard from my roommate's surf company. Ignore the crappy backdrop, I don't have a good place to shoot large items like this, so we taped up a black sheet in the hallway and bounced a 250W photoflood off the wall. As you can see, I'm getting a bit of glare off the back of the board. This was without exposure compensation. I shot at several different exposures, down to -1 EV. This reduced the appearance of glare, but I didn't think it looked very good. Can glare be reduced further if I soften the light more (diffuser screen, bounce umbrella, etc.)?
