Having her insurance company pay him for the value of the damages is not illegal, nor is it intentionally "buffing" the price and causing our rates to increase. In fact, that's exactly how insurance is supposed to work.
Whether or not he uses all of that money to fix his car, or buy cheaper aftermarket parts and keep some of the $ for himself is of no importance.
Our payments go to cover the cost of the value of the car, not what someone does with the money *after* they get paid. And that's all he'd be doing by going with that 1,2,3,4 step process that someone else mentioned.
So, in short.
Shut up.
